Olga Ziegler (she/her)

Dentons, Warsaw

Olga is the former Chair of Dentons' GLOW LGBT+ Network chapter in Europe, and a proud lesbian. Olga's legal expertise are in Real Estate law, however she has become a voice for members of the LGBT+ community in Poland who have been discriminated against, harassed, threatened, wrongly arrested and imprisoned, and subject to violence.

Her home country of Poland has rolled back on LGBT+ rights in the past few years which has motivated Olga to represent peaceful protestors wrongfully imprisoned for demanding equal rights for discriminated groups. As a result of work of her and her colleagues at Dentons, the firm developed innovative training on providing pro bono representation to clients detained during peaceful demonstrations.

Olga volunteers for the Love Does Not Exclude Association, a non-profit championing equal marriage in Poland. She also sits on the Consultancy Board of the Law Does Not Exclude Fund, a branch of the Association providing funding for court cases for LGBT+ people who are unable to finance their own legal counsel.

She also volunteers for Fund for Change, a non-profit funding local LGBT+ initiatives and Equaversity Foundation, fundraising for LGBT+ community needs.

Olga was one of six co-founders of the LGBT+ Group at the Warsaw Bar. Olga's courage and determination to not accept the status quo of things in Poland, and use her expertise to action legal change, sets an extraordinary example. Undoubtedly, to her pro bono clients, she is a lifeline.
