In March 2021, we’re launching brand new School & College Champion Awards for our member schools and colleges. If you’re a member school, check this page in March 2021 to start your application.
Our sector-leading Awards benchmark your school’s LGBT inclusion against the latest best practice. Our pioneering framework was developed by our expert Education & Youth Team – an Award from us helps you feel confident that your school or college is leading the way in celebrating diversity and supporting LGBT young people.
Our new Awards launch in March 2021:
- Apply any time in your membership year – no fixed submission deadline
- We mark all year round, so you’ll only wait eight weeks from submitting your application to get your result
- Points-based marking system with transparent and flexible criteria. Submit one application and we’ll grade it at Bronze, Silver or Gold – you don’t need to hold an existing Bronze Award to qualify for Silver or Gold!
- Detailed bespoke feedback and recommendations for improvement from our team of experts
- Awards are valid for two years so you know your Award reflects the most current best practice
- Brand new Stonewall logo and certificate to commemorate your Award
If you’re a member, we’ll let you know when the Awards are live and how to apply. Not a member yet? Membership is the best way to access our support. Only members can apply for our Awards. Find out more about becoming a Stonewall School & College Champion.
Already hold a Stonewall School & College Champion Award?
You may have already achieved a Stonewall School & College Champion Award in the past under our old Awards framework. The Award you currently hold from us still reflects great work and we know you worked hard to achieve it. It’s okay to keep displaying your Award certificate and logo if you want to, but you should be aware that all of our old Stonewall School & College Champion Awards will expire in September 2022. Our new Awards come with an updated logo and certificate to show that they’re our most up to date Awards.
As long as your membership is in date in March 2021, you’ll be able to apply for one of our new Awards. Email us if you’re not sure when your membership expires.
Applied for an Award in academic year 2019-2020 and not heard from us yet?
We’re currently finishing up the last ever cycle of our old School & College Champion Awards. If you started or submitted an application last academic year, don’t worry – we’ll still mark your Award and send you your results. You’ve got until December 18th to finish and submit your application as long as you’ve already started it. Results will be emailed to you in January.
We won’t be remarking submissions this year, so the result you receive in January will be final – make sure you’re totally happy with your application before you press submit! Remember you can find the awards criteria as well as lots of useful information on completing your application in the resource hub.
Have you been meaning to apply for an Award but not quite got round to it?
Please don’t start an Award application now – if you’d like to apply for an Award and you haven’t already started your application, you should wait until our new Awards are live in March 2021.
